Step by step: a Word offer, an Excel costing and a deck, all generated by AI
Updated 10/18/2026
The Office suite is for documents you open and edit yourself. Document tools is for documents the agent builds from data: an Excel with real formulas, a Word file generated from a template, a deck assembled slide by slide, a PDF composed from all of them. In this guide we prepare a complete client offer without opening a single program.
Step 1: install Document tools
On the AgentBox tab, under Apps, click Install on Document tools. The box gets a dedicated Python environment with the document libraries (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF and charts), available to the agent through the agentbox-python command, plus pandoc for format conversions. The install takes a few minutes.
Step 2: ask for the offer
In the terminal:
Prepare the offer for client X: a Word document describing the services, an Excel with the price calculation in three scenarios, with formulas so I can change the quantities, and a six-slide deck. Put everything on the Desktop.
The agent writes the scripts, runs them with agentbox-python and the files appear on the Desktop. The difference from a plain chat: the Excel has real formulas, not pasted values, so it stays a working tool rather than a picture.
Step 3: charts from your own data
If you have data (a CSV exported from accounting, a sales history), hand it to the agent and ask for the charts inside the documents: the monthly trend in the deck, the cost structure in the offer. The agent draws the charts programmatically and inserts them at print resolution.
Step 4: the final PDF
Make one PDF to send: the offer, then the costing, then the deck. The agent converts and merges everything into a single file. If you also installed the Office suite, you can open any of the files on the live desktop for manual touches before the conversion.
Step 5: repeatable, not one-off
The best part: ask the agent to save the flow as a playbook. Next time you just say make the offer for client Y, same formats, and the documents come out in the same style with the new data. Combined with scheduled tasks, the monthly report can generate itself on the first morning of every month.
What you end up with
- A Word offer, an Excel costing with formulas and a deck, generated from the same data.
- Print-quality charts inserted straight into the documents.
- A repeatable flow you relaunch with a single sentence.
