Step by step: your passwords on your own server, with the Vault app

Updated 10/18/2026

An agent working for you runs into accounts daily: the invoicing platform, the shop panel, the posting tool. Dictating passwords into the conversation is out of the question. The Vault app on an AgentBox solves it properly: a full password manager on your own box, which you use through the browser extension and the agent through the command line. Nothing ever leaves the server.

Step 1: install Vault

On the AgentBox tab, under Apps, click Install on Vault. The box starts the password manager at the address shown on the tile, of the form https://your-box-name.cloudlinux.ro/vault. Important: registration is locked from the first moment for everyone except a single owner address, also shown on the tile. Nobody else can so much as create an account.

Step 2: create your vault

Open the Vault address in your browser, register with the owner address from the tile and choose your master password. It is the only password you memorize from now on; make it long and keep it to yourself. It cannot be recovered: it is the key to the safe.

Step 3: the extension in the box's browser

In the Chrome on the box's desktop, the wallet extension is already installed: point it at your box's Vault address (not at the public service) and log in. From now on, when you or the agent browse on the cloud desktop, password filling works like in any modern manager. You can use the same extension on your personal computer too, pointed at your own box.

Step 4: the agent and the passwords

The agent uses the vault through bw, the command-line client already installed. The healthy flow: you save in Vault the work accounts the agent is allowed to use, and it signs in to them without ever seeing your master password and without passwords appearing in the conversation. For sensitive accounts the takeover remains: the agent hands the login step to you, as in the automation guide.

Step 5: the overall picture

The passwords sit encrypted on your box, protected by the master password only you know; the AgentBox's nightly backup includes the vault, so an emergency restore brings them back. Round it out with the antivirus with its weekly report and you have a box you can genuinely leave the daily work on.

What you end up with

  • A full password manager on your own box, registration locked for others.
  • You through the browser extension, the agent through the command line, passwords always home.
  • A vault included in the box's nightly backup.
