Vibe coding on your own cloud computer: build software by describing what you want

Updated 10/18/2026

Vibe coding is the new way of building software: you do not write the code, you describe it. You tell the AI agent what you want, it writes, runs, fixes and shows you the result, and you react to what you see, not to syntax. It works surprisingly well with agents like Claude Code or Codex, but it has one practical problem: it wants an always-on machine with every tool installed. That is exactly what an AgentBox is.

Why vibe code on a server instead of your laptop

  • The session never dies. The terminal runs on the server, not in your browser: close the laptop mid-generation and pick up the exact same screen in the evening, from any device, even your phone.
  • The agent continues without you. Give it a direction, leave for a meeting, come back to code written, tested and noted in the journal.
  • Everything is already installed. Eight agents in the terminal, VS Code and Cursor on the desktop, a browser, document tools. Zero local setup.
  • You see the result next to the code. Pick the Side by side layout for the terminal next to the Linux desktop, or Terminal + App for mobile apps with a live preview.

The workflow that works

1. Open the server's AgentBox tab and start a terminal session. Double-click it and name it after the project, say OnlineShop: named sessions keep things organised when you juggle several ideas.

2. Start your preferred agent and describe what you want the way you would to a colleague: the audience, the purpose, three example uses. Not pseudo-code, intent.

3. React to what you see, not to the code: the button is too small, sort the list by date, I want a dark background. The agent does the rest.

4. When a login or a payment appears, do not hand over passwords: the agent sends your phone a screenshot and a link into the live desktop, you solve it in seconds, it continues.

5. At the end, ask it to journal what it built and why. The next session resumes the thinking, not just the code.

Tricks that raise the ceiling

  • Full screen: the button next to the layouts takes the terminal and desktop to the whole screen, ESC brings you back.
  • Two sessions, two jobs: in one the agent builds the new feature, in another a second agent writes the tests. Name them and switch with one click.
  • Memory and playbooks: the agent keeps persistent notes on the box, so your way of working accumulates instead of evaporating.

To see vibe coding applied end to end, the step-by-step to-do app guide takes you from an idea to an app installed on your phone. And if you do not have a box yet, start one in 15 minutes.
